Programmer/Analyst

As a Programmer/Analyst, you will be responsible for the following:
- Writes new medium sized program/objects of medium complexity from detailed specifications.
- Provides on-call support and problem resolution for simple to moderate system problems. At times is required to cover varying shifts.
- Provides estimates for projects..
- Writes detailed program specifications for small, straight-forward programs/objects either for use by the incumbent or by other team members.
- Maintains and modifies routine programs; makes approved changes by amending flow diagrams, developing detailed programming logic, and coding changes adhering to established guidelines and standards.
- Maintains proficiency in the technologies used by the team to support assigned software applications.
- Evaluates simple interrelationships between programs, e.g.; whether a contemplated change in one part of a program would cause unwanted results in a related part.
- Develops program and system documentation according to established standards.
- Demonstrates excellent interpersonal skills and promotes, maintains, and encourages a close working relationship and a team effort with all members of IT and business partners.
- Can interface with the user community concerning their needs without supervision by senior staff.
- Designs and codes screen layouts, graphical user interfaces, printed outputs, and interfaces with other systems.
- Analyzes code to find causes of errors and revises programs.
- Provides technical assistance by responding to inquiries from others regarding errors, problems, or questions about programs.

You should possess the following Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience or training)
- 1 - 3 years experience developing and/or maintaining software
- Understanding of retail environment is desired
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Demonstrated experience troubleshooting systems problems
- Experience with the following: SQL server development, VB6, VB.net, ASP, ADO, Crystal Reports, VS6 and VS.net
